Is counselling for me?
Mis à jour : 12 nov. 2019

Maybe... It would be unrealistic to say that counseling is for everyone. Counselling works best when the person believes that it could help them. It's like when a person believes in drinking kombucha for its probiotics, antioxidants and deliciousness!
I do not mean to compare counselling to kombucha, rather I am noting that there are many reasons why some people may get more out of the counselling experience than others. Here are a few of these reasons. This list is certainly not exhaustive.
Timing. A person connects with a counsellor when they are ready to share and face things that they have kept hidden or locked away because they were not ready to look at before.
Willing. A person is willing to explore the counselling process as a new form of support and healing.
Trusting. A person has found a counsellor whom they can trust and be comfortable and open with, AND they trust themselves to stand up to their fears and overcome them.
Courage. A person has the courage to talk about their mental health, regardless of whether or not these chats happen with a counsellor.
And if these fail to convince you, you never know until you try. Give me a call or shoot me an email if you want to give counselling a try.
Stay strong,
